Project Description

PENNDOT’s Engineering & Construction Management System (ECMS) is an Internet based business-to-business application that automates the process of doing business with PENNDOT, and has been implemented in Waves as follows:

• Wave 3 – automates the Consultant Selection, Agreement, Invoicing and Evaluation processes.
• Wave 4 – automates the Bid Package Preparation & Submission process.
• Wave 5 – automates the Construction Management process.

Veridyne’s team designed the training curricula, developed class materials, and delivered instructor-led training for PENNDOT’s employees throughout the State for all three waves since implementation of this system. Additionally, we have continually evaluated training, performed regression testing and updated all relevant class materials and curricula through 27 releases of the software. We continue to provide high quality service in the areas of documentation, testing, and training that support each of the business processes for the various waves.

Veridyne’s team has been successful in providing very meaningful training to the PENNDOT ECMS user community due to working closely with the client to learn the organization’s business processes and continually keeping abreast of enhancements.

Project Tasks

Veridyne provides a variety of services to PENNDOT including the following:

• Training – The team’s trainers design, develop, conduct, and evaluate all training provided to the PENNDOT ECMS community of users for all ECMS Waves of the supported application. The training includes formalized classroom training, small group training, and one-on-one training. The training team creates and maintains the curriculum for all training courses since all of the supported applications are custom-built for PENNDOT.
• Technical Writing – The team designs, writes, and maintains all user manuals providing instruction on the various ECMS Waves supported by the team. The team provides documentation in the form of Detailed User Manuals for each wave that provides instruction about every aspect of each supported ECMS Wave including flow charts, screen captures and easy to follow step-by-step instruction on the most commonly performed procedures within each wave.
• Quality Assurance Testing – For each release (fixes and system enhancements) to the supported applications, the team manually tests the change and coordinates testing with the PENNDOT user representatives.
